After graduating from the University of West Alabama in 1999, I was hired at Sweet Water High School in August. I am beginning year 18.  I have been fortunate and have taught the following grade levels:

Kindergarten 1 Year

3rd Grade 9 Years

5th and 6th Grade 2 Years

4th Grade 4 Years

2nd Grade 2 Years

I am a firm believer that teachers are born, not taught. It is something you do because you love to make a difference, not to earn a dollar.

I was born in Massachusetts and moved to Alabama when I was three years old. My father, a retired Marengo County Forestry Commissioner passed away in 1997. My mother is a retired nurse. I have one sister and two brothers. I graduated from SWHS in 1978. I married my high school sweetheart, and we have two children and seven grandchildren. My husband passed away in April of 2014 after a 10 year battle with illness.  Before going back to school to get a teaching degree, I was a substitute teacher for ten years.I collect music boxes. I enjoy reading, crossword puzzles, and playing with my lovely grandchildren.
